HIKING IN ZELL AM SEE KAPRUN

The most beautiful hiking trails Zell am See-Kaprun

Between the Kitzsteinhorn and the local mountain of Zell am See Schmittenhöhe, the Zell am See-Kaprun tourism region extends. Here you will find a variety of varied routes of all levels of difficulty. Also popular are the hikes around the Maiskogel, which are mostly family-friendly and can also be done with a stroller.

Hiking at a high level

The Zell am See-Kaprun holiday region is located in Salzburg's Pinzgau and combines the best of the Alps. The region is nestled between the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, the Schmittenhöhe and the Lake Zell and is worth a visit in summer as well as in winter: around the crystal-clear lake with drinking water quality, hiking fans will find a variety of tours in the surrounding mountains.
If you prefer to take it easy, take a walk around the lake and then enjoy the cool water.

Zell's local mountain is the 2000 m high panoramic and family mountain Schmittenhöhe. You can reach the most beautiful hiking trails directly from Zell am See by gondola.

In summer the Schmittenhöhe is a real hiking paradise for nature-loving connoisseurs and families. The choice of hikes is diverse: from short hikes such as the “Sisi Rundweg”, which is dedicated to Austria’s former empress, to the eventful high-altitude promenade to Sonnkogel, to the long hike “Pinzgauer Walk”.

Let's go Schmidolin's baptism of fire and to the new one Adventure hiking trail “Mystical Forest”. The kids have a lot to do on the hiking trails of Schmidolin, the mascot of the Schmittenhöhe: tricky questions have to be answered, daring tests of courage have to be overcome and not so easy tasks have to be mastered. The goal is to accompany Schmidolin as he grows up and to help him learn to breathe fire. Anyone who has successfully completed all stations and documented this in an adventure pass will be rewarded at the end.
